Humanim has provided human services to individuals with developmental disabilities for thirty years. Our goal is to offer programs that encourage growth, promote independence and foster responsibility. Many of Humanim's services for individuals with developmental disabilities are available to children, adolescents, adults and older adults. Our collaboration with caregivers and families is designed to enrich the lives of those we serve.
Behavioral Support Services Humanim's Behavioral Support Services program provides caregivers with behavioral management tools to assist individuals with severely challenging or disruptive behaviors increase adaptive skills. Services include behavioral consultation, temporary augmentation of staff and training caregivers and family members in the use of individualized behavioral strategies.
Day Programs Humanim's Day Programs offer transitional and rehabilitation support to individuals so that they are able to take an increasingly active role in the community and to become self-sustaining adults. The programs focus on behavioral management plans that teach skills for daily living and for entering the work force. By participating in the program's community integration activities, social skills training and vocational training, individuals with disabilities learn to exercise self-determination and independence in order to integrate themselves in all facets of community life.
In-Home Supports Humanim's In-Home Support Services help children and adults with developmental disabilities live at home rather than in residential facilities. Support is provided to individuals who need more intense and focused behavioral management supports and who are able to participate in Humanim's Day Programs. Like all of Humanim's programs, the focus is on helping individuals with developmental disabilities obtain the physical, emotional, social and cognitive skills needed to live, learn and wok in the community.
Residential Humanim's Residential Programs provide adults with neurological disabilities the individualized training and support they need to live in their own homes. The goal of the residential program is to assist individuals in acquiring and maintaining daily living skills, including home maintenance, cooking, personal hygiene, shopping and personal finance management. In addition, emphasis is placed on medical stabilization, as well as problem solving, community involvement, stress management, behavior management, responsible social, financial and work behaviors.
Vocational Humanim's Vocational Services staff guide individuals with disabilities along the path of self-sufficiency by helping them identify, refine and match job-based skills and experiences with the right position and the right employer. Services include career assessments, job readiness, job placement and job support.
