  • Humanim's Assessment Center professionals provide specialized assessment and treatment to individuals ages five and above who want to maximize their social and academic functioning.  We help people of all ages understand their strengths and weaknesses, access support services, and identify realistic goals.  In order  to help individuals attain academic succes, the following services are offered:

Learning Disability Evaluation and Psychoeducational testing evaluates intellectual and academic functioning as well as perceptual and visual motor functions.  This type of assessment is useful in understanding academic problems.

Educational Testing focuses exclusively on academic assessment and understanding of the student's skill level and specific academic areas.  This assessment may include only selective academic areas or a broader assessment that evaluates achievement in all major academic domains.

Psychological Testing is useful in determining a student's range of abilities as well as coping skills.  Personality evaluation identifies specific emotional factors that may contribute to behavioral, social, or academic problems.  This type of assessment is often utilized prior to beginning psychotherapy.

Psychiatric Assessment explores the usefulness of medication in managing symptoms such as impulsivity, depression, aggression, and anxiety.

Behavioral Assessment involves a careful analysis of a child's behavior including the triggering events and consequences.  This assessment may include behavioral observation as well as observation and data collection by parents and teachers.  This procedure is commonly used as a  foundation for the development of behavior management and programming.

Neuropsychological Testing serves as an invaluable resource for treatment and educational planning.  This evaluation explores brain-behavior relationships and helps explain how specific neurological problems may impact a child's thinking, emotions, and behavior.

Behavioral Consultation and Programming can assist children in establishing more adaptive behaviors in both home  and community settings.  Humanim's professionals are equipped to provide practical behavioral recommendations for both parents and children.  Individualized plans can be developed to maximize a youth's functional behavior.

ADHD Assessment examines inattentive, hyperactive, and impulsive behaviors that may be  compromising an individual's social, vocational, or academic performance.  The standard ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) assessment includes intellectual, academic, and behavioral components.  Our comprehensive ADHD assessment rules out or further explores the presence of specific neurological disorders.
